Dental implants with electrochemical nanopattern formation to increase osseointegration

نویسندگان

چکیده

An electrochemical nanopattern formation (ENF) surface treatment was developed to overcome the limitations of conventional treatments. This study aimed evaluate cytocompatibility and preclinical efficacy newly ENF surfaces in comparison surfaces. The human mesenchymal stem cells, degree bone formation, bone-to-implant contact (BIC) ratio, implant stability quotient (ISQ) were investigated using rabbit beagle models. Overall, showed greater than other ISQs implants tibias that provided In contrast, mandibles similar for sandblasted large-grit acid-etched (SLA) model, BIC ratio significantly higher However, removal torque (RT) during SLA Thus, it confirmed ENF-treated dental can replace implants, but further research is required improve roughness increase RT.

Osseointegration in Dental Implants: A Literature Review

Osseointegration of dental implants refers to the process of bone growing right up to the implant surface. No soft tissue connects the bone to the surface of the implant. No scar tissue, cartilage or ligament fibers are present between the bones and implant surface. The direct contact of bone and implant surface can be verified microscopically. When Osseointegration occurs, the implant is tight...

The osseointegration of zirconia dental implants.

Zirconia is currently extensively used in medicine, especially in orthopedic surgery for various joint replacement appliances. Its outstanding mechanical and chemical properties have made it the "material of choice" for various types of prostheses. Its color in particular makes it a favored material to manufacture dental implants. A literature search through Medline enables one to see zirconia'...

Biomimetic dental implants--new ways to enhance osseointegration.

E ndosseous dental implants are currently the most innovative and exciting treatment modality in dentistry. They are being widely used for a variety of indications, and most of the various techniques in use are evidence-based and predictable. However, in many cases, the intended implant site is compromised because of poor bone quality (i.e., low bone density, in the case of highly cancellous bo...

Osseointegration of standard and mini dental implants: a histomorphometric comparison

BACKGROUND Mini dental implants (MDIs) are becoming increasingly popular for rehabilitation of edentulous patients because of their several advantages. However, there is a lack of evidence on the osseointegration potential of the MDIs. The objective of the study was to histomorphometrically evaluate and compare bone apposition on the surface of MDIs and standard implants in a rabbit model. ME...

The Influence of Systemic Medications on Osseointegration of Dental Implants.

Dental implants are routinely used to treat edentulism. Their success depends on osseointegration, the direct functional and structural interlocking of implant and bone. The osseointegration mechanism is similar to bone remodeling and healing. Thus, chronic use of systemic medications that can interfere with bone turnover and healing may affect osseointegration, resulting in premature implant l...
